Newport Harbor All-County running back Cole Kinder (6-1, 215) is joining Orange County’s recruiting wave to UCLA.
The senior has committed to the Bruins as a preferred walk-on, he said over the weekend. “It’s my favorite school so I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity,” he said in a text message. Kinder is the third O.C. recruit to commit to UCLA as a preferred walk-on, joining Aliso Niguel offensive lineman Sam Marrazzo and Mater Dei safety Chase Ault. Kinder also received a preferred walk-on offer from Tennessee. He rushed for nearly 1,900 yards in 10 games last season. He also is an excellent returner.
